I have only had this pet hair remover for a week but am amazed by how well it performs! A few years ago, I bought a roller similar to this which was highly praised (and rightly so) for taking pet hair from furniture in the same manner as this roller works on carpets. The difference with this roller for floors is the long handle. My house includes wall to wall carpet and a cat. I wanted to be able to quickly run over carpets with a tool that removes surface hair. This pet hair remover works wonderfully by rolling it back and forth over carpet quickly which lifts an amazing amount of hair in short order! I have multiple vacuums that will do the deep extraction of dust, etc. that only a vacuum will do but this tool does the excellent job that I had hoped for and I recommend it highly for carpets and area rugs. Just be aware that it is not intended for hardwood or tile floors
